Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Chicago follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Passing Pretty Cool Ice Cream on numerous occasions I was curious to try out some of their ice cream. The vibe of is pretty chill; very cute, friendly and spacious. I wanted something quick and I chose the Chocolate Pretzel Toffee pop. I asked how much it was and was told it was $7, which is expensive, but I still wanted to try it. Plus it was an awfully hot day. I paid and was on my way to the Fullerton bus stop. I opened the pop while waiting for my bus and you know what, it was really delicious! The flavor was very layered and had great texture. While I wouldn't want to spend too much money too often, I want to see what else I can try. I hope whatever I choose next is as good as that Chocolate Pretzel Toffee pop. Definitely worth trying.

The Caramel Horchata Crunch ($7.09) was good but a bit too sweet for me. I liked the crunchy coating and cute packaging.

Pretty Cool Ice Cream was an experience on its own. Staff was super friendly and actually took their time giving recommendations. That helped, because there’s a lot to choose from. The place feels like a playground. Bright colors everywhere, magnetic letters on the wall, and I even saw them making the ice cream in the back. Just a fun vibe all around. I went with the Take 5 they recommended. Peanut butter caramel ice cream dipped in a dark chocolate shell with little pretzel pieces. It smelled really good right away. First bite, the shell cracked and got that snap from the chocolate, then it goes straight into the creamy peanut butter caramel. It’s smooth and rich, Then the pretzels kick in with that salty crunch and it just balances everything out. Sweet, salty, creamy, a little crunchy… all hitting at once. It kinda takes you back, not gonna lie. It melts a bit fast so you gotta keep up, but yeah… worth it. I’d come back just for that.

If you’re in Logan Square and have even the slightest sweet tooth, Pretty Cool Ice Cream is absolutely worth the stop. What makes this spot stand out isn’t just the ice creamβ€”it’s the creativity. Their menu leans into fun, inventive flavors and beautifully crafted ice cream bars that feel nostalgic and totally new at the same time. From rich chocolate-dipped creations to fruit-forward, dairy-free options, everything tastes thoughtfully made and high quality. You can tell they care about ingredients. The vibe matches the neighborhood perfectly: bright, playful, and a little artsy without trying too hard. It’s the kind of place that works just as well for a casual afternoon treat as it does for bringing out-of-town friends who want something uniquely Chicago. Portion sizes are satisfying, the staff is friendly and patient (even when you need a minute to decide), and there’s almost always something seasonal or limited-edition that makes you want to come back. Whether you’re a classic vanilla lover or someone who goes straight for the weirdest flavor on the menu, Pretty Cool Ice Cream lives up to its name.

A bright & colorful ice cream shop with a fun variety of flavors. The ice cream itself was surprisingly good with lovely textures. A great little stop for a sweet treat.
